- With Chicago finally getting the recognition it deserves it’s pretty safe to say the Windy City has it locked. We are currently holding it down with the R&B of R Kelly, The Hip-Hop of Twista and Common and the production styles of Kanye West. However it may seem that there is one little element missing, this is where Mz.Lady comes in. It’s about time the game had a ladies touch. Hailing from the South side of Chicago, Mz.Lady is like no other female artist(s) that you have heard of in the past, present, or future.
Mz Lady (Formally LadyL.U.V of Lyrisis) began rapping at the age of 12 when she got caught passing a note in class and was made to recite it out loud. Needless to say the class loved it and Lady loved the fact that they loved it. An Entertainer is born. Throughout her local career Lady has crossed paths with some of the great and some of the Nah fool you got to wait:) Lady prides herself with a killer pen, play a beat something hot is guaranteed to end up on the pad .One time first lady of an all male crew, and lady felt the y would never take her seriously. So she started hitting Chicago on the solo tip. Mz. Lady in 2002 was nominated for best new underground female hip-hop artist for the WCB (Windy City Battle) Awards. Although the local television show ended before she could obviously walk away with the award Lady remained undefeated during the duration of the show.
During her solo stint she met soon to be future group member and founder of Lyrisis Anyi (Annihilation).
Mz.Lady along with her group LYRISIS has shared the stage with artist such as ED OG and the Bulldogs, Jurassic 5, Bahamadia, and LIl’Flip. Appeared on the Remix for MC Brains Freak. As Rapp search 2002 1st place winners Lyrisis held it down and took it home as the only females to represent that night. The group went through some changes but nonetheless kept the vibe going.
After her 7 years with the local group it was time to switch it up a bit.
Constantly reinventing herself Lady has since started her own production company called Lady’s Touch with production credits on D.A SMART’S Nation Business release.
Her inspiration for entering the field of music production comes from Chicago’s own The Legendary Traxster, Harvey Allbangers & Absolute of Still Starving Records.
Mz.Lady also acquired her own studio TERROR DOME Studios which works in conjunction with
TERROR ZONE Studios and TERROR RECORDS which is owned by D.A SMART.
Stay Tuned as Mz. Lady attempts to put the Emcee back into Femcee. Heat is a must!
